Wedding Day: The Dances

Ethan and I did our wedding dances a little different than most people do. Because my dad, Mark, and Alec are all important men in my life, I wanted to make sure I got to honor each of them during the dancing.

First, Ethan danced with his mom
 to a song called "A Mother's Song"

Then, I danced with my dad to "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw.

Then I danced with Mark
to "He Didn't Have to be" by Brad Paisley.

Alec didn't know I was planning on dancing with him, so he was quite surprised when I walked over to his table to dance with him.

While I enjoyed the dance with my dad and Mark, I knew in the back of my mind that my dance with Alec would break me. Since I had been secretly planning it for months, the emotions were getting to me and by the time I walked over to him, I was absolutely sobbing. It was such a tender moment.

One of my favorite parts of the night was having Alec hand me off to Ethan after our dance. I sure love these boys, holy cow.

I know a lot of people have the couple dance first, but after an emotional set of dances, I was happy that Ethan was the person I ended with. It was a good way to do it because Ethan and I could only be happy. We danced to "Tenerife Sea" by Ed Sheeren.

A couple in my home ward helped choreograph a dance for us, but when we got to the venue, everything went out the window because the floor was tiny!! I'm glad we had a few steps under our belt so that we could feel somewhat confident in our dancing abilities... which are close to none.
