Ethan's Surprise.

One of my favorite things in the world is surprising people! When I am a poor college student, it isn't super easy to do that always, but it is something I have loved to do since I was little.

When I was in elementary school, a lady gave me some cookies. I decided that I didn't want them, and instead bagged them each individually and left them with notes for my mom pretending that her guardian angel was leaving them for her. I used to throw my mom surprise birthday parties, decorate my friends' rooms during lunch on their birthday in high school, I leave notes all over the house, and my first semester of college, I surprised my whole family by coming home for Thanksgiving.

I get super anxious when I surprise people, though because I love it so much I just want to tell them so they can share the excitement with me! However, when I am really in the mood to surprise someone, I am pretty dang good at keeping the secret.

After surprising my family by coming home to California for Katie's wedding at the beginning of October, I couldn't help but squeeze one more surprise out of myself for my sweet husband who was cool enough to go along with the 26 hour road trip.

We love games. Well, I love games, but Ethan really loves games. We have a wii and that is fun, but I'm talking board games, card games, party games... you name it. We enjoy it. If you're in Rexburg and have an inkling for a game night, hit us up. Seriously. We have tons of fun games. And we're extremely fun, so it's basically a win-win.

Anyway, there is this particular game that Ethan is addicted to and has every single expansion for. However, one of the expansions came out a couple weeks ago and it was like $40. I told him that he would have to wait until Christmas or something because that is an expensive game... and we have a ton of games already... and we are poor.

A couple days later, I saw that the game was on sale for $25 on Amazon with free shipping. What a steal! I couldn't resist getting Ethan a game that would make him super happy, especially if it meant I could surprise him.

I had to wait FOUR days instead of 2 because I ordered it on a Thursday and the weekend got in the way of the mail system, but Monday I anxiously checked the tracking number all day long to see when it would be delivered. It was pretty useless, though because it took forever to get there.

Around 5:30, Ethan and I were laying in bed, taking our post school and work nap, when there was a knock on the door. "My curtains!" I exclaimed. As I opened the box, I held up the game and looked at Ethan while saying (with a very coy smile), "Wait, these aren't my curtains....?"

His face was glowing for the rest of the night and it was 100% worth the waiting and whatnot to make Ethan's smile spread across his face because his smile is pretty much the best thing in the whole wide world. I can't wait to surprise him (and the lucky others) in the future, because I'm telling ya. It's good stuff.

Are there any must have games that we should get?
