This year, we are headed to California for Christmas and I couldn't be happier about that. I usually get pretty home sick around this time of the year... home sick for my friends, California, the sun, and especially my family. I can not wait to see them all. We're leaving just in the niche of time too because it has been snow-free all semester and just as the snow starts to fall, we get to put our car into fourth gear and get out of here! ( I think it's fourth gear, I don't speak anything but automatic.)
Even though we aren't celebrating Christmas Day in Rexburg, I couldn't help but decorate for the holidays. Especially because Ethan and I hosted a tiny holiday party with some of our friends. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of that, but it was fun. We played some cheesy Christmas themed versions of traditional party games, had a gag gift exchange and lots of Christmas treats, yum!
We had an extremely strict budget for decorations. Because we'll only have them up for a week, we didn't want to spend too much, but now Ethan is saying I can keep them up for as long as I want because I just love them so much! Yay :) Thanks to a Hobby Lobby gift card from our wedding (that we only used part of), old decorations from my first semester of college, and tons of Christmas sales that helped me do it myself... we spent a whooping $30. Yippee!
(ps, my mother already pointed out that spaghetti is spelled incorrectly.)
Also, let's just acknowledge the fact that I took these quickly before our guests arrived on my iPhone... not the best quality.
Ethan & I made everything and it was so much fun.
I love having our tiny home feel so festive! :)
